Community Action

Just as each one of our properties takes a signature stand in its community, our commitment to serve the surrounding community, continues to stand strong.

Our educational outreach includes architectural tours and programs with students, tourists, and the community to highlight the significance of the building's historic past and its award winning preservation for the future. Our community outreach and partnership programs include collecting school supplies for under resourced children, in cooperation with Walter & Connie Payton Foundation; holiday gifts through the Chicago Youth Programs, food donations and volunteering with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, and donations through book fairs and other tenant programs to Literacy Chicago.

Similarly, our efforts to promote public health are also an important part of our role in the community through community wellness fairs, healthy food alternatives in our properties' food services, and donations to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, and the Alliance for the Great Lakes, as we believe our good fortune is meaningful only to the extent we can share it with others.

AMA Plaza (330 North Wabash Avenue)

  • 2016 - AMA Plaza was awarded the 2016 The International Outstanding Building of the Year Award (TOBY) in the over 1 Million Square Foot category at The Building Owners and Managers Association ("BOMA") annual conference in Washington D.C.
  • 2016 - 2009 - AMA Plaza was also awarded Energy Star Ratings each year starting 2009 through 2016 from the Environmental Protection Agency for being a building that uses less energy than 86% of similar buildings in the Country.
  • 2015 - AMA Plaza obtained LEED Gold status in 2015 from the U.S Green Building Council and is one of the few buildings of its age and size to obtain LEED Gold status.
  • 2014 - the Building received the Illinois Governor's Sustainability Award
  • 2014 - The Building is awarded by the City of Chicago Office of the Mayor the 2014 Chicago Landmark Award for Preservation Excellence Rehabilitation and Adaptive Reuse
